Unexpected Advancements
One of the folk stories that I grew up with was the story of sun and moon standing still. Versions of this story is in many cultures.
Here’s the overview of the story .
Joshua was leading a large group of people through unknown lands. The group had recently fought many battles, learnt lessons, identified their allies and had recently signed one of the partnerships.
During one of their resting times, the recent partner informed them of an impending threat.
They got to know that 5 of the neighboring kingdoms had joined forced to fight them.
The news was not pleasant to hear, the team had already fought many battles and were exhausted.
Joshua and the leaders chose to pray, listen to the inner wisdom as they worked on a battle strategy.
They decided to stay true to the partnership and back their partners and fight for the land of their inheritance. This was a hard choice, with help from the divine they decided to pursue it
During the battle Joshua and the team experienced many miraculous things:
🟣The team was able to travel on foot overnight and still win a battle to gain ground. A supernatural strength came upon them. They were renewed with energy.
🟣There was a super natural event of ‘hailstones’ which was able to provide Joshua and his team the much needed advantage. The team observed this divine occurrence and acknowledged the moment.
🟣Joshua prayed for extra day time. In a very rare occurrence the sun and the moon stood still . Joshua requested to provide the much needed time for Joshua’s team to finish the battle.
The after math of the situation is mind blowing.:
🟣It strengthened the partnership with the allies. This made their relationship stronger and grounded
🟣It gained the much needed respect among the other nations . This was highly important aspect especially for a new nation. In addition to gaining respect, it prevented future conflicts and strengthened the nation’s position.
🟣The battle had enabled the team to advance in their position by years. Some experts believe that a scenario of 5 battles over many years has been reduced to 1 battle over days or weeks. This strategic battle gained the much needed position, advantage and advancement in a short period of time.
In life and work we have many applications of this story:
💜We may have to undertake or address situations beyond human logic for us, loved ones , partners or allies. These situations will challenge us, change us and more importantly reflect on who we are, our values and many other personal aspects.
💜These situations may be tools in accelerating our growth, learning and most importantly advancing our situation beyond human capabilities. Though it may test us, it may give us the invaluable gift of knowledge, power, respect and other advantages that we cannot imagine.
💜In many cases, these situations may be divine inspired. In these situations we might find that the supernatural support may come in many unexpected forms. Encouragement, support and leadership may come in areas we never expect.
In addition to this we might be able to use our declaration of faith to obtain the victory.
We may plenty of application of this scenario in program management :
🦋Seeming show stoppers that may appear on projects and programs are real opportunities for advancements. These are evidenced in finding the right solution, improved stakeholder relationships, team morale and many more.
🦋A change in the external or internal circumstances which was perceived as a threat or a cause for potential derailment could be an opportunity for accerlated advantages in terms of gaining unexpected partnerships, much needed new skills and many more.
🦋An unexpected conflict or a disruption may be a a real accerlator that would enabling gaining the much needed time or a nudge to look for benefits in the unexpected sources
Ancient wisdom has plenty to offer. When its a prompt to pause, let’s tap into our collective inner wisdom as it may be the advantage needed to set things apart
