The undeniable power of rising together.
The story of King David provides practical examples of turning challenging experiences to foundation experiences for success.
David secured a defining victory against a massive army which set the foundation for the nation . The King in power became jealous banished David to the wilderness.
During this period David had to ‘hide’ and stay under the radar. He was treated as a traitor and a run away official.
The psalms and the poems that David wrote during this time express his pain and the agony faced . It was one of the pit experiences that defined David’s future, his values and the future of the nation.
David chose to use the adversity, pain and the experiences to turn things around with divine help. He confirmed his purpose and gained his tribe
Here are a few things to learn from this like this and apply in life or work.
Remaining true to Purpose: David believed that there is a higher purpose to the experience. He chose to remain true to his calling and conviction. This made him a strong individual, a leader and an inspiration to others.
Embracing the Tribe: The experience enabled David to attract and recruit his tribe. The tribe reflected his purpose, complemented his skills and believed in the higher calling. This principle enabled him and his tribe to become one of the world’s leading army whose battle strategies are admired and used.
Choosing to Rise Above. David and his team reminded each other to ‘rise above’ their immediate circumstances when times got hard. This enabled the tribe to achieve the near impossible outcome. They kept the peace, developed trade and much more.
Where we face challenges, let’s remind ourselves of our higher purpose and the calling. Let’s choose to use pit experiences to grow, embrace our true selves, explore new avenues and gain valuable experiences and insights that lay foundation for future.
