Divine Placements..

One of my favorite stories spoken in many cultures is the story of Joseph (Yosef). It is a classic story of a slave turned ruler who saved the world with his ingenuity during the great famine of 17th century BC

The story goes like this: Joseph was born as the second last child in the household of shepherds. He lost his mom when he was young, gains his father’s favour and the wrath of his older brothers.

One day he was tasked to deliver food to his brothers who were traveling with the family’s herd. In a bizarre turn of events Joseph was sold as a slave to slave traders who took him to Egypt and on sold him to the household of the palace care taker.

He gains favour in the eyes of the palace caretaker who makes him the supervisor of his household. Then Joseph was falsely accused and sent to prison.

He gains the favour of the prison warden and the other inmates . He had the gift of interpreting dreams by the divine.

During one of his meetings, he met the Pharaoh’s butler and wine maker who were in prison and needed interpretation for their dreams. Their dreams came true. Pharaoh’s wine maker gets reinstated.

Years passed and Pharaoh had two dreams that could not be interpreted by the wise in the country . The wine maker remembered Joseph who interpreted the dream and warned Pharaoh and the nobles of the impending famine. Joseph also got appointed as the 2nd in charge.

Joseph then had key job of preparing the nation for the upcoming famine. Joseph was lead by the divine and used this as an opportunity to develop his adopted country Egypt to a super power saying millions of humans during the great famine.

Here is what we can learn from the story in our life and work:

Many seemingly unrelated incidents that happen in our life turn out to lead to key outcomes.

Every relationship and every interaction happens for a reason. Being truthful to the relationship and interactions is the key that unlocks doors.

There is a divine purpose and a divine hand orchestrating everything and fulfilling a higher purpose though us.
